Jon has handled many novel cases which changed industry practices. Jon spent more than a decade representing healthcare workers infected with HIV and other transmissible diseases through accidental needlestick accidents. This litigation received national exposure and helped changed state and federal OSHA regulations and industry practices. His cases have resulted in adding warnings to dangerous products, pulling dangerous products from the market, changing safety practices across industries, and otherwise helped to prevent injuries to and save lives of workers and consumers.

Jon has enjoyed overwhelming peer recognition, including winning the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association’s Trial Lawyer of the Year Award and twice placing as a finalist. He has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and an Associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Jon has also served as the President of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, the President of the Marin Trial Lawyers Association (three years), and on several other Boards of Directors. He writes and speaks on trial practice subjects frequently.

Jon has given back to the community with many thousands of hours of volunteer service. Most recently, for the last seven years, Jon has served as President of the Board of Directors of Legal Aid of Marin, the primary source of free legal advice and representation to the 80,000 residents and workers from vulnerable populations of the County.
